Macy’s Santaland at Home is an online extension of Macy’s annual Christmas festivities held in stores.
Santaland 2022 was a truly multimedia production. From screenwriters crafting the narrative to live capture elements of Santa and Eve the Elf, 3D modeling and animation, and ultimately transforming these elements into an interactive adventure for children to explore online during the Christmas season..
In addition to the entertainment and games offered in Santaland, a crucial component of the website was the front-end reservation system for scheduling an in-store visit with Santa at a marquee Macy’s location. Given that the experience was primarily designed for children, maintaining and adhering to COPPA compliance was essential.
