When Gulfstream sought to launch its G700 aircraft, the tallest, widest, and longest cabin in business aviation, they aimed to create a profound and memorable experience for their target customers.
To achieve this, GPJ devised a unique strategy to conceal and reveal the 110-foot aircraft amidst the Nevada desert, surrounded by thousands of attendees and numerous competitors. The solution involved employing 150 feet of horizontally cascading LED screens to provide a seamless backdrop.
The GPJ engineering team meticulously designed and engineered the stage, which consisted of five square-shaped LED screens. These screens were strategically positioned to extend long enough to conceal the G700 and slide behind one another in a dramatic sequence.
To ensure optimal visibility and legibility, careful attention was paid to the placement of text and graphics on the overlapping LED screens. Additionally, color considerations were taken into account, as black rendered the LED transparent. Collaborative efforts were made with the media programmers at Lux Machina to align all media elements seamlessly among the five screens.
Preshow content was ingeniously repurposed to create the illusion of the G700 flying through the skies, providing a captivating spectacle for attendees while the screens took two minutes to fully open.
